At SkillsUSA Events

SkillsUSA is committed to serving the diversity of members within our schools and communities. Therefore, SkillsUSA offers attendees at every national event the opportunity to select a pronoun ribbon that communicates their preferred pronouns.

SkillsUSA understands that one’s gender identity and personal pronouns are a deeply personal aspect of one’s identity. Assuming that we can accurately determine one’s gender, visually or otherwise upon meeting, can easily lead to harm and disrespect. For this reason, we provide pronoun ribbons to easily communicate one’s personal expectations.

Please join us in respecting each person’s wishes by using that person’s name and identified pronouns when interacting. Through that small act we affirm a person’s identity and ensure we’re contributing to an event where we can all be a part of SkillsUSA and champions of the skilled trades.
